Wow, can you feel it already? Drier fall air and heating systems alike chipping away at your pretty little mug? No, not your actual coffee cup silly, but the skin on your actual face. We definitely feel ours starting to crack and shrivel. And, we are also definitely not getting any younger. So, rather than taking any risks and trying to brave this on our own, we’ve turned to makeup artist and skin care authority, Sarah Rose Adams.  The Green Beauty Guru shares with us six non-toxic beauty products to help us protect our faces and one that even doubles as a hair product. Thanks Sarah!

Fall Skincare Tips

True Botanicals Hydrating Cleanser

Healthy, glowing skin starts with the very first step in your clean routine! I’m sure by now you’ve heard that gentle, yet effective cleansers are much more beneficial than the ones that strip your skin, feeling tight and dry. Especially in the colder winter months when our skin already faces so much trauma. True Botanicals’ Hydrating Cleanser ($48) is a smooth gel texture with hydrating and anti-inflammatory ingredients such as green and white tea, aloe, camellia seed oil, and jojoba. If you needed another reason to want to join this bandwagon, it would be the incredible smell: neroli, grapefruit, jasmine, and lavender. It’s the best way to start and end your day!

In Fiore Toning Floral Essence

This aloe and chamomile packed toner is used to lock in hydration and maximize absorption of your treatment oil. Bitter orange flower distillate further purifies the skin, while at the same time soothes irritation, windburn, and sunburn. Simply mist In Fiore Toning Floral Essence ($80) on clean skin before applying the rest of your products or use throughout the day over makeup to refresh and give an instant hydrating boost!

Vered Anti-Aging Treatment Oil

This is one of my very favorite face oils for winter- Vered Anti-Aging Treatments Oil ($118)! Vered, a master healer, and well-respected NYC aesthetician has some of the highest standards for formulating high quality and high performing products without the use of any synthetic ingredients. A thicker, vitamin-E packed blend of jojoba, sweet almond, pumpkin seed, tamanu, hemp, and rosehip (vitamin a!) oils gives the skin a slower-absorbed source of nourishment and a protective barrier against harsh environmental conditions. Vered has added adaptogenic ashwagandha, anti-inflammatory turmeric, and soothing marshmallow to service the needs of stressed out skin! Make this gem a part of your morning and evening ritual and your skin and senses will thank you! You can also find this wonder product at Follain!

Vered Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment

I am always on the hunt for an eye treatment that actually works on my under eyes, which are extremely prone to dehydration lines and puffiness (and even more-so in the winter due to dry artificial heating systems!!!). It’s important to find an eye treatment that works for both short-term concerns due to dehydration; a salty snack, a restless night’s sleep, as well as long-term tissue preservation and repair. This one is the whole gamut! It pairs beautifully with the anti-aging treatment oil, as it’s based on the same nourishing ingredients. However, it targets eye-related concerns with horsetail, green coffee bean, and blue chamomile. Vered Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment ($68) will have you looking rested and feeling ready to take on the day!

Lilfox Cleopatra Restorative Milk + Honey Beauty Mask

Masking is an extremely important part of your skin routine. If you haven’t already worked a face mask into your self-care rituals, run – don’t walk to purchase this delicacy! Lactic acid and nourishing honey, coconut, and rose soften and gently exfoliate the skin. Winter skin is already a bit more sensitive, so using a healing honey-based mask like this one with a comprehensive range of ingredients to detoxify, exfoliate, and brighten the skin is ideal. Lilfox Cleopatra Restorative Mike + Honey Beauty Mask ($88) comes in powder form, which can be mixed with water or (my personal favorite) manuka honey!

Osea Anti-Aging Body Balm

It’s not just the face we need to give extra love in the colder months. Osea Anti-Aging Body Balm ($48) is a balm to oil texture. Rich in algae, this body balm helps to preserve the skin as well as hydrate and protect against harsher winter conditions. Uplifting citrus, lemon, and passion fruit energizes your soul and skin! You can even work remaining balm from your hands into the ends of your hair to hydrate and protect!
